DISCOVERING THE ARTIST WITHIN

Art Program

The Reutlinger’s award-winning Art Program, “Discovering the Artist Within,” offers residents an opportunity to create art within an inspiring and encouraging atmosphere. Our art program offers older adults powerful cognitive benefits—stimulating creativity, sharpening memory, and maintaining fine motor skills that support independence. Art provides a meaningful outlet for self-expression, while group classes build friendships and foster community connection.

Artwork by Residents

A group of elderly women are seated around a large table, enhancing their resident experience as they engage in a crafting activity with paper. The bright room, filled with natural light, is decorated with colorful art and flowers.

Our Art Program Director offers residents individual guidance in bringing their unique vision to life. Within a beautiful fine arts studio, residents who have never created art before, as well as experienced artists, enjoy learning new skills and expressing themselves. Exhibitions each year provide a joyous sharing of our residents’ accomplishments with the entire community.

The Reutlinger artists explore many mediums including, drawing, painting (in oil, acrylic, pastels or watercolor), sculpting and pottery in clay, collage, textiles, jewelry and mixed media.

Framed artwork hangs in a well-lit hallway gallery. Each piece is accompanied by a printed description or biography below, displayed in a single row along the white wall.
